Medesha Mathuray, the Regional Quality Manager for Coast East, represented Life Health Solutions as a guest speaker at the South African Society of Occupational Health Nursing Practitioners (SASOHN) KZN Coastal Workshop, held on 13 August 2024.
SASOHN is a non-profit organization comprised of professional Occupational Health Nurse Practitioners (OHNPs) who volunteer their time to advance the profession.
The event took place at the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine in Durban, drawing approximately 25 Occupational Health Nurse Practitioners and student nurses. The theme of the workshop was “Navigating Document Management in Occupational Health Nursing,” focusing on enhancing knowledge in healthcare and occupational health, particularly in sharing health information among colleagues.
Medesha’s presentation included a hands-on session on compiling work procedures, emphasizing the critical importance of this skill in the field.
Reflecting on the event, Medesha said, “It was an invaluable experience to connect and engage with fellow colleagues from various Occupational Health sectors. It allowed me to appreciate new insights and provided a great opportunity to speak and coach on a topic I am passionate about.”
Attendees shared positive feedback, noting that they enjoyed the interactive nature of the session.
