Think bigger and bolder. Become outstanding!

Taking bold focused action creates explosive results” – John Di Lemme

In the dynamic landscape of business, the attribute that often sets trailblazers apart from the pack is boldness. It's the courage to take risks, the boldness to challenge norms, and the resilience to navigate uncharted territories. Boldness is not just a trait; it's a mindset that empowers us to turn obstacles into opportunities and to redefine what's possible.

I would like to share the sentiments of Adam Pyle, our Chief Executive Officer for Southern Africa, who recently said in his recent newsletter that we should “challenge ourselves to think bigger and bolder, pushing the boundaries of what we thought was possible”. I couldn’t agree more. Taking on the ever-evolving markets and new terrain demands that we adopt a bold approach and make bold decisions to drive our organisation forward.

Let’s not forget that our success depends on our ability to stay ahead of the curve, adapting to changing market trends, and anticipating our customers’ needs. Boldness will get us there.

In this edition of my newsletter, we explore how boldness fuels innovation in our products, how it drives our business development and marketing strategies, how it propels growth in our teams, and how it fosters a culture of creativity and excellence in everything we do.

New Business and Retentions

I am pleased to report that our company continues to grow, particularly in the wellness space. In the past six months, the business has shown a steady improvement in both new business gains and retention of key contracts. In addition to this, we are seeing an improvement in the quality and quantity of potential clients in our pipeline and are expecting to see additional growth from our lead generation strategy. On this note, I would like to thank all those involved in the securing of the following new clients. Well done to everyone concerned; often, these are collective efforts.

The Life Application gets an upgrade

It has been one year since we launched the Life Health Solutions wellness app. Since then, we have onboarded a sizeable amount of our EWP clients. During this time, we have learnt from our users and have taken those learnings to improve the app. These are the new and improved features:

  • Instant access with zero hassle. To access the app, employees simply need to download the app and register using a unique company code.
  • Personalised recommendations. A tailored health profile provides timely reminders and personalised insights to each user.
  • Access to help quickly. Thanks to the easy registration process, it's even easier (and faster) for employees to access our wellness care centre.

These updates are not just about functionality – it's about meaningfully engaging with employees and empowering them to take control of their health. With the continued development of the app, we anticipate a higher level of  engagement and happier employees.

Bata Clinic uses Abby for their wellness day

Bata Loskop Clinic (KwaZulu Natal) organised an employee wellness day on 14 February. At this event, Old Mutual partnered with Life Health Solutions to provide employees with access to their Abby Health Station, which is used to track and monitor one's health status. The Abby Health Station uses advanced technology to conduct thorough physical assessments. Among the tests it performs are blood pressure monitoring, body mass index measurement, blood oxygenation measurement, temperature checks, HIV testing, blood sugar level measurement, cholesterol measurement, and more. Moreover, results are immediately available.

There were a number of employees who visited the Abby Health Station that day. Employees who used the machine were equipped with information to help them better manage their health and take proactive measures, and they could share the information with their healthcare providers.

Overall, the event was a great success and well received.
