Nurses, we salute you

Some of life's biggest moments are shared with nurses - from the moment we are born to the moment we pass away, and unexpected moments in between. Today, as it was hundreds of years ago, nurses continue to be at the centre of life’s most important events.

Nurses are truly the heartbeat of healthcare,” says Pennie Phillips, Executive for Business impact, Life Health Solutions and Marketing. “They are the first – and, sometimes, the only – port of call for the majority of patients, particularly those in community-based and primary healthcare environments. These remarkable individuals who make up this profession are critical in the care of patients across the entire healthcare spectrum and we are so proud and acknowledge the incredible work they do”.

Today, on International Nurses Day, we celebrate our nurses whose passion – and compassion – inspires us every day. This year’s nursing theme – A Voice to Lead – aptly reminds us of the collective voices that we hear when we are at our most vulnerable. Their voices calm us when we are scared; their voices reassure us when we are in despair; and their encouraging voices help us to heal. There is no doubt that they have stirred a nation.

To all our nurses, your meaningful contribution to upholding the integrity of this honourable profession has not gone unnoticed.

On behalf of Life Health Solutions, thank you for making us better.
